BMF 10th Anniversary Art Commission

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Boyne Music Festival we have commissioned artist Marie Hartig to create a painting of the place we call home, the Boyne Valley, with the heart of the BMF, Townley Hall, in the distance. You’ll see this image over the coming months as it will form the basis of our promotional material for the festival. Watch this space for our poster coming soon!

Born in Tokyo in 1977 to Austrian diplomats, Marie Hartig spent her childhood and adolescence in Japan, Pakistan, Kenya and Austria.  After attending the Kent Institute of Art and Design, she pursued a BA in Fine Arts and Communication from London Guildhall and a Masters in Global Politics at Birkbeck, University of London. Marie now creates bespoke wall paintings and wallpaper on commission drawing on a wellspring of diverse cultural icons from around the world. Her whimsical designs showcase a lifelong infatuation with natural history and catapult even the most incredible homes and spaces into the realm of the extraordinary. Marie currently lives in Vienna and works internationally.  We’re thrilled Marie spent time here in the Boyne Valley earlier this year to create this unique painting in special celebration of this year’s festival. You can explore more of Marie’s work on her website here.

We are so happy with how the painting turned out we’ve decided to share it with our audience and the local community here in the Boyne Valley. We’ll be offering a limited number (15) of signed high quality (50 x 70 cm) art prints of The River Boyne during the festival. The festival will also have smaller prints (30 x 40 cm) available for purchase as well. A wonderful way to get a lasting memento of our 10th anniversary while also supporting the festival and our future work. All prints were produced by FARBPRAXIS - Kunstdruck Gorisek in Vienna, Austria.

In addition to the prints, the BMF will auction the original oil painting during the festival weekend. Bids can be made either in person at festival events or online via the festival’s website. All proceeds will go to support the BMF, which runs as a non-profit and is powered in a large part by volunteers.
