Amateur Strings Workshop
We are delighted to invite string players of all ages to take part in this summer’s Amateur Strings Workshop at the Boyne Music Festival. The workshop will take place in idyllic Townley Hall and will be led by violinist Iona Petcu-Colan (leader of the Ulster Orchestra) and joined by BMF Artists.
Together, we will work on:
J.S. Bach: Brandenburg Concerto 3 - mvt 1
Sam Kane (BMF featured composer) - Sunflower for string orchestra and solo violin
Edvard Grieg - Holberg Suite - mvt 1
Sheet music is available to download HERE.
The session will be friendly and informal, offering an opportunity to play alongside professional musicians, get some guidance, and enjoy a few hours of music-making in a relaxed and supportive setting. The session will conclude with a short playthrough of the selected repertoire at 1.45pm. Friends and family are very welcome to attend.
The participation fee is €40, which covers administration and includes light refreshments.
To take part, please fill out this form and book your place via the button below.
We’d love to have you join us!
