Friends Reception: Meet the Artists & Tour the Grounds of Townley Hall

  • Townley Hall Slane Road Drogheda Co. Louth (map)

The Boyne Music Festival makes its home each summer in the historic Georgian country house known as Townley Hall. Townley Hall was built between 1794 and 1798 by the Irish architect Francis Johnston for the Townley Balfour family and is now owned by The School of Philosophy which offers courses and retreats throughout the year. It is nestled into a quiet parkland outside of the town of Drogheda on beautiful secluded grounds.

The festival is delighted to invite BMF Friends to a private reception in Townley Hall’s stunning rotunda before the evening concert. This will be an opportunity to enjoy a glass of prosecco and light hors d'oeuvres and also to meet BMF Artists. Friends will then be guided on a walk through the peaceful grounds surrounding Townley to get a feel for the very special nature of this place in the Boyne Valley.

BMF Friends are a vital part of the health of the Boyne Music Festival. Support from public entities such as the Arts Council and Louth County Council only cover a portion of the cost of producing the festival each year, and ticket sales do not provide the rest. The Festival is grateful for the generosity of its many donors and looks forward to expanding this support as it moves into its second decade.
