Macdara Ó Seireadáin is a native of Dublin and a First Class Honours graduate of both the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover and Royal Irish Academy of Music and member of the critically acclaimed Dublin-based chamber music group, the Ficino Ensemble with whom he has recently recorded their debut CD “Winter”.
In 2010 Macdara won the inaugural Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition and has performed as a featured soloist with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Uelzen Kammerorchester amongst others.
During the 2018-19 season Macdara was contracted with Philharmonisches Orchester Kiel in Germany, and performs regularly with both the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and RTÉ Concert Orchestras. He has also worked with Staatsoper Hannover, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra and Camerata Ireland.
As both a chamber and orchestral musician he has performed throughout Europe, the US, Canada, China, Chile, India and most recently completed a fourteen concert tour of Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, and Lithuania with his chamber music partner Gintaras Januševičius.
A keen chamber musician, he has collaborated with John O'Conor, Ailish Tynan, Johannes Peitz, Sharon Kam, Finghin Collins, the Apollon Musagete Quartet, and the Vanburgh and performed at numerous chamber music festivals including Great Music in Irish Houses, Fredener Musiktage, Kilkenny Arts Festival and Killaloe Chamber Music Festival.
