The 2019 Boyne Music Festival opens its 7th festival with a celebration of poetry and song at the Boann Distillery in Drogheda. Poet Neil McCarthy will read from his collection “Stopgap Grace” with performances by the husband and wife folk duo, John McIntyre and Zoë Conway.
Guests are invited to arrive early to sample the Boann Distillery’s collection of whiskeys and try the beer brewed on site by Boyne Brewhouse. Doors will open at 7:30pm.
"Stopgap Grace feels like the chronicles of a ghost drifting from city to city, down labyrinthine streets where history bleeds from coffee shop walls and each moment of pause is shattered by the juxtaposition of change. It is both celebratory and melancholy, like a love letter to the world on the eve of its destruction. McCarthy’s debut collection is a work of spellbinding beauty."
