Kilcoe Strand

Born in Glasgow in 1930, William Crozier is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art where he studied from 1949 to 1953. Throughout his life he has lived, worked and exhibited in London, Dublin, Paris and Malaga and since 1981 has always maintained a studio in West Cork and Hampshire.

Crozier taught at Bath Academy of Art and the Central School of Art before taking up the post of Head of Fine Art at Winchester School of Art where he was elected Professor Emeritus in 1987. In 1991 he was elected a member of Aosdána and was awarded the Oireachtas Gold Medal for Painting in 1994.

His work is represented in numerous collections worldwide, including the Copenhagen Museum of Modern Art; Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art; Gdansk National Museum, Poland; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; National Gallery of Canada; Warsaw National Museum; National Gallery of Australia and Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane.
