Beat Your Own Drum

The BMF invites children 6 to 14 years of age to take part in a drumming workshop led by percussionist Jimmy Hagan. Children will have the opportunity to play the djembe, a traditional percussion instrument from West Africa.

During the session, children will use games and phonetics to help build rhythms and techniques. They will work together to learn different polyrhythms to play together as a group. At 1pm, the participants will have the exciting opportunity to perform what they have learned in the Family Concert alongside BMF Artists.
